The United Kingdom Colonial Marines was formed in 2006 by Paul Maitland and Bruce Smith as a forum for like minded people to get together at shows and conventions as a group. To share ideas on Aliens related costumes and props, to entertain the public and spread Aliens fandom but mostly to get drunk.
Since it’s inception our numbers have risen steadily and world domination cannot help but creep into the back of our minds. The only thing holding us back is the fact that our founders are still our leaders.
We now attend more and more shows around the country and are always planning invasions of several different countries at any one time.
As the UKCM has grown we have also seen more diversity in the costumes worn by our members with not just Colonial Marines and Aliens anymore. We now have several Predators in our midst as well as some Disco styleee Viper Pilots from Battlestar Gallactica. No doubt this will continue as we gain new members.
Amongst all this we also collect money for charity via the Just Giving website which you can see linked to on some of the pages throughout the site. All monies raised go to a worthwhile charity and it makes us feel warm and fuzzy inside.
Our main goal though will always be world domination, that and the getting drunk, which may not be entirely compatible of course.
